Traditional archery wood arrows - get the grain of the arrow going the right direction.m2ts Video Clips. Duration : 3.52 Mins.

Some longbow and primitive bow shooters and most if not all war bow shooters shoot off the hand. I watched a 'how to' video a couple of days ago on crafting wood arrows for use with a longbow. That video left out some important information about arrow grain. It compelled me to make this video demonstrating considerations that need to be made about the direction of the wood grain when building wood arrows. When I was 8 years old, a wood arrow separated at one of the feather grains. That arrow ended up in my index finger. Take a moment to check your wood arrows for cracks or splits anytime they take a hard hit. This video is Canon SX130 1280x720 MOV clips rendered to 1280x720 H.264/AVC format at 12 Mbps.
