Shooting Flu Flu arrows is noisy fun.wmv -- Traditional archery Video Clips. Duration : 3.27 Mins.

Went out to shoot some Flu Flu arrows. Trying to capture the sound of an arrow. Flu Flu arrows are specifically designed arrows with large fletching. The excess fletching causes a lot of air resistance, which limits the arrows effective flight distance, usually about 25-30 yds (30m). I make my Flu Flu's using full-length feathers, cut in half, 4 fletches per arrow. Some Flu Flu arrows are made by spiraling 2 feathers around and down the arrow shaft. The excess fletching of a Flu Flu arrow makes it rather noisy. Flu-flu arrows are used for aerial target shooting and the hunting of birds and small game. Because flu-flu arrows fly short distances, it is easy for the archer to recover the arrow if the intended target is missed. Special bird points consist of a shallow wire basket 4-6" in diameter attached to the end of the arrow. When shooting at squirrels or other tree dwellers, a blunt point is usually used. The blunt point provides plenty of shock power while preventing the arrow from sticking into the tree if the archer should miss his target.
